League of Legends is one of the most popular MOBA games of all time. Its main downside was that it isn’t compatible with iOS and Android devices. Luckily for me and everyone else that loves the concept of the game, the Moonton company accepted this challenge.
First released back in 2016, I have been playing it for the past four years. With that in mind, here is my personal experience, including its highlighting points and downsides.

What Is the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Game All about?
Since its release, the Mobile Legends has been a hot topic. The reason? Tencent lawsuit and Moonton paying a settlement of $2.9 million for plagiarizing League of Legends.
Despite this, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang turned out to be more popular than the Tencent Arena of Valor.
I rushed to download it just a few hours after its official release. Today, this game is one of the most popular MOBA mobile games with the concept of two teams fighting and destroying enemy bases.
The coolest point about this project is that there is a wide variety of game modes and mechanics.
Exponential Growth
After Moonton paid $2.9 million to Tencent, their game experienced a massive spike in popularity.
As I was among the first few thousands to download the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, I witnessed this growth.
For example, back in 2016, there were only 10 champions – today, this MOBA offers more than 103 champs.
How to Download and Install Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Before I discuss my experience and why I like this game, it is essential to explain the setup process. The first thing that I like is that it is available for both Android and iOS users.
As someone who runs mobile games on a Samsung device, I had an easy time searching for the title through the Google Play Store and downloading it within minutes.
At the time of writing, this game has more than 100,000,000 downloads with millions of daily active users.
The fact that it takes just about 100 MB of memory space and that anyone with Android above 4.1 can run it is pretty impressive.
What About iPhone and iPad Users?
Although I am not a fan of iOS devices, the Moonton company did a fantastic job developing an app suitable for iPhone/iPad.
Similar to the Android version, it is free to download but takes three times the memory space (300+ MB). It works on all iOS 9.0+ devices.
Overview of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
The main advantage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, when compared with similar MOBA games, is that it is perfect for users who are on the go.
The matchmaking is pretty effective in my experience, and most games are completed in under 20 minutes. I find it to be a great choice for anyone who enjoys fast-paced multiplayer action.
It is a game highlighted by elements such as roles, ultimate abilities, skins, laning, jungling, and collective goals. The most impressive point is that it is beginner-friendly.
What does that mean? Touch controls are simple to work around, and the game helped me with last-hitting and accurate aiming (even though I am an experienced user).
International Gaming
One of the coolest features is that the Mobile Legends game is available in a variety of languages.
These include English, Arabic, Burmese, Cambodian, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Not only that, but it supports international gaming with country flags next to player names.
Noticeable Features of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
The main element of this game that I like is that it satisfies my cravings for a 5 vs. 5 gameplay.
It is a game that offers an immersive experience with a top, mid, and bot lane fighting simultaneously. As mentioned above, there is much more than the classic gaming mode.
Much like LoL, I found this game to allow many customization options. Firstly, I can choose between a wide variety of different champions and assume roles.
These include support, marksmen, mages, and tanks. On top of all that, the fact that most games are matched within 10 seconds is where the Bang Bang has an advantage over League of Legends.
Intuitive Touch Controls
Believe it or not, this MOBA game doesn’t require a lot of experience in the field.
On the contrary, the virtual joystick that allows for smooth character movement and accurate aiming is something that I am pretty impressed by.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Offers Built-in Live Streaming
Among the focal points of the multiplayer regime that MOBA offers is the ability to start live streams while in the game.
The coolest part of this feature is that I didn’t need to create a Twitch account to find others fighting on the battlefield. On the contrary, all of the live streams are integrated into the game interface.
I was pretty shocked by how friendly the live stream tool is. It takes just a few seconds to set it up.
Apart from streaming and allowing others to watch as I dominate the field, I also had a great time learning different strategies by watching others go at it.
Filter Out Streams
Furthermore, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang game allows its players to filter streams by champions and rank.
It is a feature that I specifically enjoyed as I was able to focus on writing notes for roles that are in my specialty.
Intuitive Controls and Classic Mechanics
To be honest, I am not a huge fan of MOBA games that are highlighted by modern mechanics.
In my opinion, keeping it down to a simple interface that allows choosing a lane and fighting on a battlefield is much better. It doesn’t come as a surprise why Mobile Legends is so popular.
It offers a beginner-friendly setup that is fun to play. On the other hand, I found this MOBA to offer unlimited growth.
Thus, even though I have years of practice and experience with this game, it still hasn’t bored me. It is because of new champs, skills, abilities, and the ever-lasting craving for competition.
Simple Controls
As mentioned above, although Mobile Legends seems complex, this game is pretty simple to learn.
Most importantly, executing ultimate abilities and fighting my way through was even more enjoyable with BlueStacks that allows for the integration of computer equipment (mouse, keyboard).
Impressive List of Heroes and Events
Upon its first release, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang listed just 10 champions.
To be honest, I was pretty disappointed and couldn’t wait for an update. Luckily, Moonton started adding more champions and roles shortly after – today, that number is set at 103.
The coolest point of this MOBA approach is that all champions have different specifics. Although many new champions require battle points, I didn’t find this to be a huge issue.
There are ways to earn those for free. Judging by my experience, there isn’t a MOBA that can stand to the versatile list of events and champions that highlight Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
A Wide Variety of Events for Real-Life and In-Game Rewards
One of the reasons why I spend at least an hour playing this game is because of the variety of events that I can enroll in.
I won an Amazon Gift Card more than once through teaming up and winning in-game competitions.
Earn More Battle Points Through Brawl and AI Games
Much like League of Legends, the ability to expand my list of champions and skins is directly related to the battle points.
I can make an in-app purchase and save myself time and effort. On the other hand, I enjoy challenges, and one of the ways that I get my battle points is through double BP and victory BP cards.
These are set to increase the number of battle points that I can earn through regular games. How to obtain a BP card? My way is to share results on a social media page and look for events that offer card rewards.
Additionally, fighting AI and playing a higher number of games is an effective method to farm battle points (although it may not be the most entertaining one).
Be an MVP
After doing extensive research on effective methods for earning more BP, I found that my performance in the classic mode counts.
With that in mind, I do my best to have the optimal ratio of kills/assists/deaths and thus earn a few more BP than I would (works for lost games as well).
Ranked Matches Bring More BP
It is a fact that earning battle points through ranked games may not be a straightforward process.
To maximize the potential, I need to win most of the match-ups and be placed in a higher rank/division. Depending on how successful my season was, I can get a pretty significant number of BPs.
Also, I found that stacking and opening free chests every couple of hours is an effective method to yield more BPs.
I realized just a few weeks ago that claiming metal chests is the way to go, as these reward you with up to 250 battle points.
Complete Achievements and Daily Quests
While completing daily tasks and weekly quests may seem challenging, it is highly rewarding and, in my personal experience, pretty fun.
The Downsides of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Game
The main downside of this game is the ads. While I understand that the developers need to turn a profit and can’t rely on people purchasing BPs, the frequency of ads is too high, in my opinion.
Along with it, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang encounters the same issue that League of Legends does.
To play with the champions that have the greatest potential, I need to make an in-app purchase or spend hours a day to unlock them for free.
Penalty Issues
Although it depends on who you are playing against, I was penalized multiple times just for being AFK a few minutes, and this penalty policy isn’t something that will motivate new players.

Summary
It all depends on whether you are into battle arena games or not. Despite the downsides mentioned above, I find it to offer an immersive gaming experience.
I can say with confidence that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the best MOBA game on the market.
